The Compass

A new name is a fresh start. But when a company has decades of experience behind it, that history deserves to come along.

That was the challenge facing WolfPro Engineering & Land Surveying Inc.

In January 2026, Tryon Engineering Inc. and Tryon Land Surveying Ltd. came together under the WolfPro name.

With roots dating back to 1961, the company had built a strong foundation in northern British Columbia. Its team provided engineering, land surveying, materials testing, and other technical services across the region.

Now, the company needed a new identity that reflected its combined strengths.

WolfPro operates from Fort St. John and Dawson Creek, BC, and serves projects across Western Canada.

So, Brian Elliott reached out to EV Agency to help bring the new brand to life.

The project started with a website, but it quickly became something bigger. WolfPro needed a professional logo, clear messaging, a consistent visual style, and a modern website that could bring everything together.

Our goal was simple: give WolfPro a fresh look without losing the experience and reputation behind the name.

TL;DR

  • The challenge: Bring two established engineering and land surveying companies together under one modern brand.
  • Our approach: Rebuild the company's online presence with clear messaging, custom design, and a consistent visual identity.
  • What we delivered: A custom WordPress website, 12 dedicated service pages, a refined corporate logo, brand guidelines, and SEO foundations.
  • The highlight: A bold, newspaper-inspired design that reflects WolfPro's northern roots and professional experience.
  • The outcome: A modern brand and website that brings decades of experience together in one professional online home.

What the Client Needed

WolfPro had the people, experience, and technical knowledge. However, the former online presence didn't reflect the full range of services the new company could offer.

In fact, even existing customers weren't always aware of everything available through the business.

That was a problem worth solving.

WolfPro offers services ranging from structural engineering and land surveying to 3D laser scanning, utility locating, and materials testing.

Each service has its own purpose, customers, and technical requirements.

So, the new website needed to make those services easier to find and understand.

At the same time, Brian wanted the brand to feel strong and professional. It needed to reflect the company's northern roots without looking like a typical construction or engineering website.

The project had five main goals:

  • Create one clear identity. Bring the former Tryon companies together under the WolfPro name.
  • Modernize the website. Replace the dated online experience with a custom design that works on desktop and mobile.
  • Organize the services. Give each major service its own page with clear, accurate information.
  • Build a consistent brand. Develop a logo, colours, and typography that work across the website, documents, signage, and other materials.
  • Prepare for the future. Build a website that's easy to manage, update, and expand as the company grows.

There was also a practical challenge.

WolfPro was preparing new company documents, email addresses, signage, and other branded materials. Because of that, the website and brand development needed to move forward together.

The goal wasn't simply to change a logo or update a few pages. WolfPro needed a complete, professional online presence that matched the business behind it.

The Plan We Mapped Out

A project with this many moving parts needs a clear plan. So, we broke the work into stages and worked closely with Brian through each one.

1. Understand the business

First, we met with Brian to learn more about WolfPro, its history, services, and goals.

We reviewed the former website, discussed the new company structure, and gathered technical information.

We also developed a BrandScript to help shape the company's message.

This gave us a clear starting point for both the branding and website.

2. Develop the new brand

Next, our graphic designer, Octavian Grecu, worked with Brian to refine the WolfPro identity.

Brian had already explored a wolf-inspired logo. He liked the connection to the animal's intelligence, teamwork, and resilience.

However, he wanted something professional, not a sports team mascot.

So, we explored different shapes, colours, fonts, and logo styles.

Through several rounds of feedback, we refined the design into a simpler identity that could work across digital and printed materials.

3. Plan the website structure

With the brand taking shape, we turned our attention to the website.

We organized WolfPro's services into dedicated pages. Then, we worked with Brian's technical notes to develop clear descriptions for each one.

We also researched search terms and planned the headings and page structure around relevant services.

The goal was to make the website easy to use without losing important technical details.

4. Build the website

Next, we developed the website using WordPress and Elementor.

Rather than starting with a standard template, we worked from a custom design direction.

We built the homepage and a service page first. Once those layouts were refined, we used them to guide the remaining pages.

5. Review, refine, and launch

Throughout the project, Brian stayed closely involved.

He reviewed layouts, shared design examples, marked up documents, and helped refine the wording.

Some stages took more back and forth than expected. However, those conversations helped us understand exactly what he wanted.

After that, we completed the remaining pages, applied the approved branding, and supported the move to the new domain.

The process gave WolfPro a website built around its services, its people, and its vision for the new company.

What We Delivered

The finished project brought together custom web development, corporate branding, and website content.

Each part had a purpose. Together, they created a consistent look and experience for WolfPro.

Custom WordPress Website

We developed a modern website using WordPress and Elementor.

The design includes bold headings, clean layouts, custom visual elements, and responsive pages for desktop and mobile.

We also built the website around a clear navigation system, making it easier to explore WolfPro's services and company information.

12 Dedicated Service Pages

WolfPro offers a wide range of technical services. So, we gave each major service its own space.

The website includes dedicated pages for:

  • Structural Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Geotechnical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Hydrotechnical Engineering
  • Geospatial Services
  • UAV Mapping & 3D Laser Scanning
  • Land Surveying
  • Materials Testing
  • Building Design Engineering
  • Land Development
  • Underground Utility Locating

Each page follows a consistent structure while keeping the content specific to that service.

This makes the website easier to explore and gives customers a clearer picture of WolfPro's capabilities.

Corporate Logo and Brand Guidelines

We refined the WolfPro logo and developed a complete visual identity.

The branding package included:

  • Primary and supporting logo variations
  • Corporate colour palette
  • Typography and font guidance
  • Brand guidelines
  • Scalable vector logo files for web, print, and signage

This gives WolfPro a consistent look across its website, reports, proposals, vehicles, and other company materials.

Website Copywriting and SEO

We worked with Brian to organize and refine the website's written content.

Because the services are technical, accuracy mattered.

We used his industry knowledge as the foundation, then improved the structure, headings, and flow.

We also planned the service pages around relevant search terms and helped establish the website's SEO foundations.

Contact and Company Information

We built a contact form that lets visitors choose a service and describe their project.

The website also includes clear contact information for WolfPro's Fort St. John and Dawson Creek offices.

Domain and Website Launch

Finally, we secured the wolfpro.ca domain and supported the transition from the former Tryon website.

We coordinated with WolfPro's IT provider on domain matters and helped establish the new website's search and business listings.

We also provided technical support after launch.

What began as a website project became a complete digital and visual identity for the newly formed WolfPro.

How We Captured the Story (On-the-Ground Approach)

The strongest part of WolfPro's story wasn't something we had to invent.

It was already there, built through decades of engineering, surveying, and working across northern Canada.

Our job was to bring that experience into the new design.

Inspired by the North

The wolf was an important part of the company's new name.

For Brian, it represented intelligence, focus, teamwork, and resilience. It also reflected his connection to the rugged northern landscape.

However, he didn't want wolf imagery taking over the brand.

So, we focused on those qualities rather than turning the wolf into a mascot.

The result was a simple, professional identity with a strong connection to the company's character.

A Different Kind of Corporate Website

One of the most interesting parts of this project was the website's design direction.

Brian wanted something inspired by a modern newspaper.

That meant strong headlines, clear sections, structured columns, and a layout that encouraged people to explore.

We combined that editorial style with WolfPro's new branding.

The design uses bold typography, carefully placed imagery, clean spacing, and custom service icons.

It looks different from a typical engineering website, but it still feels professional and easy to navigate.

Making Technical Content Easier to Read

Engineering websites can get complicated quickly.

However, visitors shouldn't have to search through long paragraphs to understand what a company offers.

So, we focused on clear headings, organized information, and consistent service page layouts.

Brian supplied the technical knowledge. We helped shape it into web content that was easier to follow.

That balance was important. The website needed to work for experienced industry professionals and people learning about a service for the first time.

A Collaborative Design Process

Brian was involved throughout the project.

He shared examples, reviewed the website, and gave detailed feedback on everything from typography to page spacing.

At times, we explored different approaches before settling on the right direction.

That took patience and open communication on both sides.

But the end result was a website that reflected WolfPro's own vision, rather than a design chosen for convenience.

Every detail helped bring the new identity together, from the wolf logo to the layout of each service page.

The Results (Proof You Can Feel)

Not every website project needs a long list of numbers to show what changed.

For WolfPro, the transformation is clear when comparing the original website and branding with the finished work.

From Tryon to WolfPro

The new website brings two established businesses together under one professional identity.

It connects the company's history with its new name, services, and direction.

Instead of presenting separate identities, WolfPro now has one online home.

A Modern Website Built Around Real Services

The new website features 12 dedicated service pages, a consistent layout, and a clear way to explore the company's capabilities.

Visitors can move from the homepage to the service they need without sorting through one long list.

The custom design also gives WolfPro a distinct look that reflects its new brand.

Consistent Branding Beyond the Website

The new logo, typography, colours, and brand guidelines give WolfPro a consistent foundation for future materials.

From reports and proposals to signs and clothing, the company has the visual tools needed to present its identity professionally.

The final brand guidelines were approved in October 2026.

A Complete Website Transformation

The before-and-after images show the change most clearly.

The project replaced the former online presentation with a modern website built around the new company name, its history, and its full range of services.

It also brought the design, content, and visual identity together.

The result is a professional rebuild that gives WolfPro a strong foundation for its next chapter.

A Few Lessons From This Project

Every project teaches us something. WolfPro was a good reminder that the best results come from combining a clear plan with the client's knowledge of their business.

Here are a few lessons worth sharing.

1. A Rebrand Is More Than a New Logo

A new name needs a clear message behind it.

For WolfPro, that meant connecting its new identity to decades of experience and making sure the website told the same story.

2. Give Every Service Room to Breathe

When a company offers many services, it's tempting to squeeze everything onto one page.

However, dedicated service pages are easier to navigate and give customers more useful information.

3. Build the Design Around the Business

Not every company needs a conventional corporate website.

WolfPro's newspaper-inspired design gave it a distinct look while keeping the content professional and organized.

4. Technical Accuracy Comes First

Good writing makes complicated information easier to understand. But it should never change what a company actually does.

Working closely with Brian helped us keep the content accurate while making it easier to read.

5. Clear Approvals Make Development Smoother

When a project includes custom branding and design, agreeing on the direction early matters.

Building and approving key page layouts before developing the rest of the website helps reduce rework.

For us, WolfPro reinforced something we believe in: good websites come from understanding the business first, then building around it.
